Life Events

I was born on June 7, 1945 in the city of Ufa. I started drawing already from the age of four. At the age of seven, he sent me the portrait I invented (of course under the name: “Stranger”) to the editorial office of the newspaper “Pionerskaya Pravda”, the answer came on the letterhead of the editorial office, where they advised me either to describe a happy childhood and the building of communism, or to throw dirty paper. Having burst into tears, I still didn’t stop scribbling the paper. Until in 1958 the Ufa Palace of Pioneers opened, where I enrolled myself, I went to the studio of fine art to a wonderful teacher Vladimir Stepanovich Sarapulov. But my indefatigable nature rebelled against regular visits and brought my works from time to time, and they still treated me with great attention and constantly encouraged my searches. Even then, I invented a lot and hardly wrote from nature. But in April 1961, Yuri Gagarin flew and we all fell ill with Cosmos, and I am forever. In 1960, for the first time I participated in the All-Union Exhibition of Children’s Creativity, where I received the II Prize (the first was not awarded then, but two second). Around the same time, my work was selected for an exhibition in India. Then I was offered to study in Moscow at the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography, but for a number of reasons I couldn’t realize this opportunity. In 1964, I entered the Ufa School of Music and Education at the Art and Graphic Department, where I studied after 1968 and didn’t complete the course of study, and left for Moscow to enter a university.Художник Лев Карнаухов

Upon arrival, I made an attempt to enter the Surikov Institute, but they asked for a diploma and there was a bummer … The next year I was already a scientist and offered to take a look at the work first and was immediately allowed to take entrance exams. During the show, something about 20 watercolors were hidden from me. I didn’t get one point and began to attend the evening paid department. And after a couple of years I was sent from Moscow for communication with the anti-Soviet. So I got to the Urals in Sverdlovsk, where I continue to live in the city of Yekaterinburg. Then my work flourished in double color and in 1975 I took part in the first regional youth exhibition, which represented 6 works (only 5 were posted for some reason). The participants of this exhibition automatically fell into the youth section of the Union of Artists, however, for negative statements my documents were safely lost somewhere between Moscow and Sverdlovsk. Then there were personal and not very exhibitions in the city, but immediately after 1996 such disgrace stopped (living in a room of 13 square meters in a communal apartment with three children). That was until 2013, when they almost persuaded me to exhibit in the anticafe “Communicator”, 74 paintings were exhibited in five rooms. After that I exhibit willingly and wherever I invite.

In 2018, he was admitted to the Creative Union of Artists of Russia, in 2019 to the Eurasian Union of Artists. The list of exhibitions is attached:
